Somatic Therapy
RESONANCE SOMATIC THERAPY
Regulating the Body Beyond the Craft
The demands of a professional creative life extend far beyond the work itself. For actors, directors, singers, and writers, the pressures of sustained performance, emotional exposure, public scrutiny, and professional uncertainty can leave a lasting imprint on the nervous system.
Somatic therapy addresses the physiological impact of these experiences. By working directly with the body's deeply held stress responses, this practice helps release chronic physical tension, settle the nervous system, and restore a greater sense of internal stability.
While my performance coaching provides a safe, trauma-informed space to navigate the psychological and physical demands of artistic expression, my somatic therapy practice goes a layer deeper, focusing specifically on the lasting physiological effects of trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, and the pressures of a professional creative life. It focuses entirely on the person behind the craft, addressing the physiological toll of intense production cycles, public visibility, and creative vulnerability. By processing anxiety, depression, and PTSD at the nervous system level, this work builds the deep psychological endurance and internal safety required to sustain a high-stakes creative career.
Areas of Focus
Trauma & PTSD: Working with the physiological effects of trauma to address hypervigilance, chronic tension, and persistent fight-or-flight responses, while developing a greater sense of safety within the body.
Anxiety & Panic: Exploring the physical mechanics of anxiety and providing practical somatic tools to manage panic, regulate the nervous system, and restore an internal sense of stability.
Depression & Burnout: Addressing patterns of freeze, shutdown, and emotional depletion associated with depression, chronic stress, and the demands of intense production cycles.
My Approach
My practice integrates three complementary modalities, each offering a distinct approach to working with trauma, chronic stress, and the nervous system. These methods are tailored to the individual, allowing the work to unfold according to your specific needs and experiences.
Somatic Experiencing®
A body-oriented approach to resolving trauma and chronic stress by working with the nervous system's physiological responses. Through gentle awareness of physical sensations and patterns of activation, this work supports the release of deeply held tension and the restoration of nervous system regulation.
Brainspotting
A focused therapeutic approach that uses specific eye positions to access and process deeply held emotional and physiological experiences. Brainspotting works beyond conscious analysis to address unresolved trauma, anxiety, and patterns of distress that may be difficult to reach through traditional talk-based methods.
Integrative Hypnosis
An approach that combines focused attention, guided imagery, and therapeutic suggestion to explore subconscious patterns and deeply rooted emotional responses. This work supports greater internal awareness, helps shift limiting patterns, and cultivates a deeper sense of psychological and physiological stability.
Who I Work With
My practice serves creative professionals navigating the psychological demands of high-visibility careers, intense creative responsibility, and the complexities of maintaining a private life within a public industry.
Actors: Addressing the neurosomatic impact of public scrutiny, emotionally demanding roles, personal triggers, and the difficulty of separating intense character experiences from private life once the camera stops rolling.
Professional Singers: Addressing performance-related anxiety, vocal trauma, and the physiological constriction that can affect breath, voice, and emotional expression, particularly during demanding performance and touring schedules.
Screen & Television Writers and Authors: Navigating isolation, anxiety, depression, creative vulnerability, and the psychological pressures of development cycles, looming production deadlines, and public reception.
Directors & Entertainment Industry Professionals: Supporting directors, showrunners, producers, and creative executives navigating the psychological weight of leadership, high-stakes decisions, complex professional relationships, and the sustained pressure of major productions.
Discretion & Professional Standards
Privacy and professional discretion are fundamental to my work. I understand the particular sensitivities of the entertainment industry, where public visibility and professional relationships can make personal privacy especially important.
Confidentiality & NDAs: Your privacy is foundational. Sessions are conducted with the highest level of professional discretion, and I am experienced in working under Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) when required.
Accessible Internationally: I maintain active practices in New York and Los Angeles, as well as working via Zoom with artists all over the world. Private sessions are conducted remotely, allowing for continuity of support whether you are on location, in the studio, or touring.
